Joey Barton slams David Beckham over H&M underwear
It was one of the biggest clothing line launches of recent times so when David Beckham opened his H&M underwear line last week, we didn't think he'd get so much flack for it.
However, the sportsman-turned-designer has been criticised by QPR footballer Joey Barton for his range of men's underwear that was advertised in a £2.2m advert during the Super Bowl.

It's not unlike him to cause a bit of a stir on social networking site Twitter. His latest spat began with tweets alluding to the fact that Beckham's line was created in a 'sweat shop'.
"Not a****d if they're Beckham's or not. 9.99 pounds for a pair of gruds for H and M is an outrage."
He continued: "Do one, Becks. They cost about 1p to make in a sweat shop in the Third World. Is there no limit to what 'Brand Beckham' will endorse for a pound note?"

Beckham's rep has since slammed Barton's claims to the Daily Star, insisting that the clothes are made "under the strictest ethical guidelines."
Becks' spokesperson added that anybody who accused him of child labour is a 'madman' considering the footballer is a UNICEF ambassador.
H&M has commented that the people who create the range in a factory in China are paid 'at least the statutory minimum wage'.
Joey Barton,
having a go at anyone is a laugh from him.
Just liikes the sound of his own voice...Blokes a thug and a gob sh~te...Just wish he would do us all a favour and DO ONE...please if You could only run on the pitch as well as You run off at the mouth....Your nothing more than a attention seeking pratt.David Beckham is worth ten million of You....
Some people seriously need to think before they comment!
You are banging on about how unfair it is for the chinese people to be working for their national minimum wage? We have a national minimum wage here also and there are an awful lot of people who have to work for just that. It happens in every country and it is set by the governments and politicians of said countries so it is seen as a fair wage.
Next to nothing is made in this country anymore because people like Barton and indeed you lot posting refused to pay the higher and higher cost of things, so like every other manufacturer of clothes, they shipped production abroad! Any that are mad here cost a lot more and are of no better quality as the manual labour market is shockingly poor in this country. People don't put the work and effort in to their jobs anymore, they think I don't get paid well so I won't put as much effort in! FACT!
Whilst freedon of speech is allowed, perhaps Mr Barton should take the advise 'sometimes it is better to be silent and thought of as an idiot, than to open his mouth and remove all doubt'. I cannot think of a better role model in modern day football than David Beckham, who has come off a class act, if indeed at time he has proven his 'human'. In recent times i've quite like Barton and his comments, but for a man wo has been found crimially guilty as well as admitting to stubbing a cigarette out in a youth team members eye at Man City, he perhaps should not comment on the morality of a man who's charity work is by far greater than what he has offered the world.
Spot on Joey.
Many millions of British workers are claiming to be living in poverty because they are only paid the minimum wage. Same goes for those at Sport Relief. Choosing to manufacture their merchandise (tees socks jumpers etc) in the far east rather than give a British business the chance.
Whilst not being the greatest fan of joey barton , I do sympathise with his thoughts on the the sweat shop situation in china. The hypochrisy of being a UNICEF ambassador and then endorsing child poverty in china is mind blowing but as long as the fat cats get richer and the girls/gays get a blimp of beck's **** everyone turns a blinds eye....todays caring society...rich get richer the children starve
Poor old Joey, the only way he can make the headlines is by his "tweets", Joey why don't you just do what it is you're supposed to be good, oh sorry forgot you're just a sub-standard footballer, limitec skills, no personality, isn't this the man (loosely termed" who thought he was going to be a huge international player, so he's full of s**t just like his tweets
