Nicole Kidman: I didn't speak to Katie Holmes about Tom Cruise

Nicole Kidman has spoken publicly for the first time about her ex-husband Tom Cruise's latest marriage break-up. His third wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce in June while he was on a film set in Iceland.

Nicole, who was married to the Mission Impossible star for 10 years until 2001, denied she had reached out to Katie to offer her advice. "I never spoke to her," she said in a new interview. "I wish all of them well, but I was not involved in any of that."

As news of Tom's divorce broke, reports speculated that Nicole had spoken to Katie about how to untangle herself from the grip of Scientology. But Nicole denied this and said she had no bad memories from her marriage.

"I got married really fast and really young," she told Who magazine in Australia. "But I don't regret that because it got me [adopted children] Bella and Connor and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period.

"There were times following [the divorce] when I thought, 'Wow, this is the loneliest, loneliest existence'. But with Tom, it was a fantastic decade," Nicole insisted. "I wish all of the people that have been involved in my life well, because it's very important to me to be in a place of forgiveness and love."

Nic has been married to country singer (and new American Idol judge) Keith Urban since 2006.
