Stars remember the former South African president
Tulisa reveals sex attack in her autobiography
Tulisa is one of the toughest young stars in the public eye today. After being catapulted to fame at an astonishing rate thanks to starring on the X Factor as well as her music career, she’s successfully handled herself and batted away negative stories and bumps in the road as they come.
And now the 24-year-old star has revealed an even more difficult past than we might have imagined in her new autobiography 'Honest: My Story So Far', which is being serialised in The Sun.
The N-Dubz star has written about an alleged sex attack when she was just 16, where she claims she was drugged on a night out and woke up to find a man having sex with her without her consent.
Prior to the horror, she had been out partying with friends and had seen some of them slipping pills into their drinks. She wrote that she even made up a heart condition so that she wouldn’t have to take anything.
However, later on she realised she was feeling “abnormally drunk” and blacked out.
“The next thing I remembered was waking up. lying in the back of a cab and seeing the street lights whizzing past me through the windows. I felt completely out of it, and I blacked out again.”
When she woke up, she found herself in a bedroom with a man – someone she knew – having sex with her.
“I couldn't even move, let alone get up or speak, and once again I just blacked out. When I finally woke up in the morning I found myself in a strange house.
“I couldn’t even move, let alone get up or speak,” she added.
“I knew I’d been drugged. I went into the bathroom and burst into tears.”
She never reported the incident to the police due to being scared and not knowing what to do at just 16, adding that she felt “embarrassed and ashamed”.
She added that she would certainly report someone now she’s older and wiser if they took advantage of her in such a way.
Tulisa’s autobiography Honest: My Story So Far is out on Thursday.
