Unlikely couple alert: Gossip Girl star dating ex-Hollyoaks actor

Although they're both soap-style drama shows, we reckon Gossip Girl and Hollyoaks are worlds apart. After all, one is set in the glamorous world of New York's Upper East Side, and the other is based in a suburb of Cheshire. Not quite as glam, even though they try.

So imagine our surprise and delight upon learning that the two worlds have collided, somewhat - GG star Jessica Szohr and ex-Hollyoaks-er Ricky Whittle are the hottest new celebrity couple on the block.

The unlikely (but hot) couple have been spotted together at LAX airport in Los Angeles together after a short trip to San Jose, where Jessica is currently filming a new movie, The Internship.

The beautiful twosome (who have combined looks to seriously rival those of Brangelina) are believed to have been friends for a while but have become closer over the past month.

According to a friend of theirs 'it's early days' with the couple. The source added: "Ricky and Jessica have been spending quite a bit of time together and they get on really well.

"They went to the VMAs together a couple of weeks ago and were hanging out backstage with a few friends including Taylor Swift."

Hunky Ricky, who is frequently spotted looking toned in LA where he now lives, also referred to the Gossip Girl actress in a message on Twitter earlier this month.

It seems Jess has a thing for Brit guys, as she famously dated her co-star Ed Westwick for a while too. Ricky's most famous ex is his former Hollyoaks co-star Carly Stenson.

We hope we see a lot more of these two - our eyeballs enjoy uber-attractive celeb couples!
